National
By road
Huddersfield is close to junctions for the M1 and M62, and in easy reach of junctions for the A1 and M6 [click for RAC's traffic information service and route planner].
By rail
Huddersfield is linked by direct services for Manchester, Manchester Airport and Leeds, and Wakefield for regular London services [click here for Railtrack's timetable].
By air
There are direct rail links to Manchester Airport, and Leeds Bradford Airport is nearby.

Local
From M1 (south)
Take junction 38 and follow signs for Huddersfield (A637 - A642 - A629).
From M62 (west)
Take junction 23 (Huddersfield West), second exit at roundabout (A640) and straight through to Huddersfield.
From M62 (east)
Take junction 24, first exit at roundabout following signs for Huddersfield (A629).
Town centre
From Bus Station
Leave through main exit and walk down by Plumber's Arms. Cross at pedestrian crossing and carry on down High Street (with Civic Centre on right) to pedestrianised area (Library on left, Covered Market on right). Head down stairs at the end of the Covered Market. University is across ring road via pedestrian crossing.
From Railway Station
Walk across St. George's Square (aim for building with lion on top) and go right on main road. Follow road across traffic lights (Macdonalds on left and Lloyds TSB Bank across right). Turn left down pedestrian area (Cafe Nero on left and Vision Express on right), and turn right behind WH Smiths (St. Paul's church on campus should be in sight). University is across ring road, via pedestrian crossing.
